More Easter Surprises - Welcome Baby Austin!

The original plan was that we were going to have a scheduled c-section on April 3rd, which would actually be one week before baby's true due date. Angela's parents were also planning to be here a week and a half before that, just in case. Well, we weren't counting on the late Wisconsin snowstorm which shut down the Milwakee airport and delayed grandma and grandpa Chen's visit for 3 days. Nor were we expecting baby to be 2-1/2 weeks early. So, an unexpected coincidence of events on Sunday evening forced us to Plan B, which was actually no plan at all but a mad last minute scramble to figure out 1) what do to with Tristan, and 2) whether Angela was actually in labor (remember the plan was for c-section so we hadn't taken any recent birthing classes, and for some odd reason neither of us could actually remember at what point are you actually supposed to go to the hospital). To make a long story short, Lloyd ended up driving to the hospital like a madman, running every red light and stop sign that he could to avoid the possibility of delivering this baby himself. We made it just in time and ended up with a healthy baby boy at the end of the night.

So, here he is:
Austin Wei Krauskopf, born 11:17pm Sunday, March 23, 7 lbs 13oz, 20.5" long

Happy Easter

Tristan participated in his first Easter Treat Hunt at the Oregon Zoo. What fun!

New Family Blog

In anticipation of our new addition, we have set up a new blog site for the family. We managed to keep up with Tristan's blog for his first year. We would like this one to be longer-lived, but we will see.

If everything goes as planned, we will welcome Tristan's little brother on April 3rd. Life should get pretty interesting after that :)

We are trying to enjoy the last couple of weeks with just Tristan. We spent this morning expoloring the Children's Museum in Portland. Tristan loved playing with the water toys, the dance party, and especially the train set. It was a little tough pulling him away from those trains...
